Hi All,
David has been asking if we are able to get the perspex bubble for the traditional Ansen Bogu Helmet.
During my trip to japan I was able to secure a limited supply. As I am the only importer in Australia they have agreed conditionally. The Japanese insist they are provided on the understanding they are only fitted to the original Ansen Headsets..
If you would like to purchase a replacement bubble for an Ansen Helmet, please be quick I have 20.
The cost will be :
$135.00 AUD. for one.
$250 for purchases of 2 or (more @ $125. )
$550 for 5 (More @ $110)
Prices Include GST
Regards
Rene.

Saturday 31st March From 1pm for 3 hours for a Kids Gladiator Tournament

A small but talented Australian Koshiki Association team competed at the World Koshiki Championships held in St Jerome, Canada on Sunday 28th May 2006. Sarah Cooper and the team coach, Jim Griffin, were honored to be able to train at the Shindo Budo Kwai Dojo of Shihan Ghislain Dore in St Jerome on the Friday night before the rest of the team arrived in town. The team assembled in St Jerome late on Friday 26th before taking in the local sights together and warming up on the Saturday.
The warm up, to get the kinks out and focus on the tournament, took place in a park on the banks of the River Nord in St Jerome. Following the training, everyone cleaned up and we all had dinner together at a local restaurant before an early night in preparation for the big day.
The team traveled to the tournament venue together and was soon registered and ready to go. As this tournament was the 25th Anniversary event, there were a number of demonstrations from the different competing Nations and Karen Stone did Australia proud with her powerful Kata.
Kyoshi Michel Laurin, 8th Dan, the tournament organizer performed an excellent 13 minute demonstration of powerful and perfectly controlled self defense techniques that left the large crowd in awe of his talent. Then we were treated to a powerful demonstration of self defense techniques by Hanshi Watanabe, 9th Dan, that underlined his 50+ years of Karate training. These demonstrations alone would have been worth the price of entry for the spectators and competitors alike.
Karen Stone and Jim Griffin were honored to be chosen as officials, Karen judging Kata in the morning prior to her events and Jim judging Kata in the morning and refereeing senior kumite events in the afternoon.
Our team was very professional in everything they did in St Jerome and were a credit to themselves, Australian Koshiki and Australia but even they could not have imagined the success that was to come their way at this World championships.
The team comprised 5 members competing in 14 events and they won 7 World Championships, 3 second places, 1 third place and 2 fourth places. ( A total of 13 places from 14 events!) These events included Kata, weapons Kata and kumite. The results were:-
Karen Stone, 1st Senior Black Belt weapons Kata and 3rd in Senior Black Belt Kata
Jessica Govan, 1st 14 to 16 yrs Black Belt weapons Kata, 1st in Kata , 1st in Kumite.
Sarah Cooper, 4th 12 to 13 yrs Black Belt Kata and 4th in Kumite.
Kyle Westerberg, 1st Senior Brown Belt Kumite, 2nd in Kata, 2nd in Weapons Kata
Sean Henderson 1st Brown Belt Kata, 1st in Weapons Kata, 2nd in Kumite
There were over 300 competitors from a number of Countries and the Tournament was well run, friendly, of a high standard and fair to all and was a credit to the organizers. There were many very senior Instructors in attendance at this tournament and all were very friendly to our Australian team members, in fact many of them assembled for a photo with the Australian team after the tournament. Some of these eminent and famous Karateka are as follows:- please see Photos section
This was a very impressive lineup and a once in a lifetime photo shoot.
Congratulations to all the Australian team members, their dedication and professionalism is a credit to themselves, their Instructors and Australian Koshiki.
Jim Griffin
